WNBA
Cells read as raw allowances or as ranks, switched together by the display toggle. A rank of one means the defense allows the most of that stat to that position — the softest matchup. Color encodes percentile, so the heat map and the number agree. Window controls move the sample between the full season, recent games and a recency-weighted blend.
How each defense ranks vs All Players, by stat. Higher percentile = softer matchup.

What each defense allows by position, ranked across the league. A team can defend well overall while being the place opposing guards go to score, and a single team rating hides that.

Aggregated from per-player game results attributed to the defense faced, then z-scored and percentile-ranked league-wide per stat and position. In a twelve-team league a one-rank move is a larger share of the field than it would be elsewhere, so read ranks alongside the raw allowance rather than instead of it.
