What the columns mean and how to read them

The number is a consensus rather than one outlet’s opinion: it averages a player’s rank across every board that listed him. BOARDS is how many did, and it matters as much as the rank — one board is an opinion, three agreeing is a signal. SPREAD is his best and worst placement, the disagreement an average hides: a player at 8 from ranks of 3 and 14 is an argument, not a verdict. Filter by Boards to see only the players the industry has converged on.
