Pick a phase and the board compares like with like inside it: a quarterback’s yards and a linebacker’s tackles are not the same number, and no honest single score turns them into one. Δ is the change in the ranking column, per game. Both seasons clear the same volume floor, so a receiver who simply got the job is not counted as a riser. A jump after transferring is the strongest signal there is, because it controls for who he faced.
